The Salesians of Don Bosco is a global organization committed to the holistic development of young people, especially those who are marginalized and disadvantaged. Founded by St. John Bosco, an Italian educator and saint in 1856, the Salesians have a long legacy of empowering youth through education and skill development. St. John Bosco’s pioneering approach focused on providing vulnerable young people with opportunities to learn, grow, and secure sustainable livelihoods. Today, the Salesians of Don Bosco operate widely Countries - 133 countries Schools – 3,299 schools Colleges – 129 Technical institutes – 752 Youth centres – 2468 Network organisations – 32 Professed Members – 25,000 + We serve young people regardless of religious or social background. Recognizing the urgent need for skill-based training for disadvantaged youth in India, the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) established Don Bosco Tech Society (DB Tech) in 2006. With a vision to bridge the gap between unskilled youth and employment opportunities, DB Tech was set up to offer employment-linked, market-driven vocational training programs of short duration. Today, DB Tech has built a nationwide network of 150+ skill training centers across 29 states, making it one of the largest skill development initiatives in India. Through technical training, soft skills development, and industry partnerships, DB Tech continues to empower youth, ensuring they gain meaningful employment and a chance for a brighter future.
